Products / Ingredients / Allergies
How long are your products good for?
All customs are best before 12 months from the compounding date. All our products will include an expiry date, clearly labelled on the back panel. We do not recommend using products past the expiration date on the product’s sticker.
Can I add my minerals to hot liquids, like coffee or tea?
Yes, just make sure the liquid is not boiling hot (like a tea), as heat starts the degeneration process and will affect the efficacy of the minerals and vitamins. If it is lukewarm for example, that should be no problem.
Can I take my Vykon Custom with medications?
Our custom formulas include vitamins and minerals that may interfere with the absorption of prescription medications.
We recommend taking your supplements at least 2 hours before or after other medications. We always recommend following the direction of your healthcare practitioner.
What is the serving size for Vykon Customs?
The serving size and daily dose will vary, depending on your formula . You should always refer to the back label of your formula for specific serving instructions.
What ages do you make Vykon Custom products for?
We offer our formulas for various age groups and demographics. Each base formula is created specifically for the needs of the demographic. We offer Adults, Tweens, Kids, Toddlers, Infants, Pregnancy, and Breastfeeding formula bases.
It has taken longer than the duration quoted, is this normal?
Yes, because of the titration process at the beginning of your protocol, your formula will last longer than the quoted duration.
Do you offer products other than Custom Formulas?
We offer a wide range of products outside of our custom formulas - please visit our retail website vykonsupplements.com to shop for our ready made products.
Are your liquid probiotics vegan?
Yes! Both our liquid probiotics are vegan.
Where are the products manufactured?
All Vykon products are produced in a Health Canada licensed lab facility based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The lab is cGMP compliant, has strict quality assurance and uses third-party testing to validate the identity and purity of all ingredients.
Are your products tested for contaminants?
Our lab is cGMP compliant and is licensed under Health Canada with strict quality assurance protocols.
All ingredients in every custom are tested for heavy metals, microbiology and contaminants. We have strict protocols in place to ensure that quality of the raw materials are maintained. In addition to custom compounding, we also do larger batch production and each of those batches is tested after production for microbiology and heavy metals.
Are all of the ingredients non GMO or organic?
We strive to ensure we use as many certified organic ingredients as possible. Approximately 95% of our herbals are organic, and if not organic, then they are non-GMO. For example, our kelp is knotted wrack from the North Atlantic and is certified organic. All of our flavourings have been hand-picked and are 100% natural. Many supplement companies use fillers and artificial flavours. We refuse to use anything artificial in any of our Vykon products.
Do you have procedures for individuals with severe allergies?
We take allergies very seriously. We will process any allergy sensitive order at the beginning of the day after a deep clean in the lab and make all efforts to minimize any potential cross contamination.
We do have three potential major allergens in our facility:
- Dairy - In our New Zealand Whey Protein Isolate
- Shellfish - In our Glucosamine Sulfate
- Fish - In our Hydrolyzed Marine Collagen
We cannot guarantee that our products have not come in contact with these allergens as they are in the same facility, but as previously mentioned we take all precautions to minimize cross contamination as much as possible.
Do you have procedures for individuals with food sensitivities?
We manufacture any orders with allergies and sensitivities first thing in the morning after a deep clean has been performed in the lab, so that any potential allergens (such as whey protein), are not open inside the lab until the formula has been compounded fully.
Our lab is not a gluten free facility.
